Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Jared for Alabama campaign committee collects when you use slussforsenate.org, why we collect it, and who we share it with. It covers this website only.

What we collect

Information you give us

We only collect what you type into a form on this site. Depending on the form, that is:

• Get involved: your phone number and ZIP code, and your email address if you choose to add one.
• Share your story: your name and contact details if you provide them, and the story you write. You may submit a story anonymously.
• Yard sign request: your name, phone number, email address, and the street address where the sign would go.
• Press inquiry: your name, outlet, email address, and your message.

Where a form offers to send you campaign updates by email or text, those boxes are unchecked by default and you have to opt in. Checking them is never a condition of getting a yard sign, sharing your story, or supporting the campaign.

Information collected automatically

If you arrive from a link we placed somewhere — an ad, a mailer QR code, a social post — the campaign tracking tags in that link (the utm values) are submitted along with your form, together with the address of the page you filled it in on. This tells us which outreach is working. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

This site also uses Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement, which set cookies and record page views and form submissions. Analytics runs only on the live site.

How we use it

• To contact you about what you asked us for — delivering a yard sign, following up on a story, answering a press inquiry.
• To confirm a yard sign address is inside Alabama Senate District 7 or within five miles of it, which is the area we can deliver to.
• To send you campaign updates, but only by the methods you explicitly opted in to.
• To understand which outreach brings people to the site.

Yard sign addresses

A yard sign address is used to check delivery eligibility and to coordinate getting the sign to you. To do that we send the address to Google's address validation service, which confirms it is a real, deliverable street address and returns its approximate coordinates. We compare those coordinates against the district boundary. We do not use your address for any other purpose, and we do not need it unless you are requesting a sign.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not trade or rent it to other campaigns, committees, or commercial list brokers. We share it only with the service providers that make the site work:

• Brevo — delivers the notification email to campaign staff and the confirmation email to you.
• Google — Maps and Places power the address autocomplete; the Address Validation API checks yard sign eligibility; Analytics and Ads measure site traffic and conversions.
• Vercel — hosts the site and serves its pages.
• Sanity — stores the site's editable content. It does not receive anything you submit through a form.
• ActBlue — processes contributions. Donate links take you to ActBlue's own site, and anything you enter there is covered by ActBlue's privacy policy, not this one.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, including campaign finance reporting obligations that apply to contributions.

Your choices

• Email updates: every campaign email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the updates; it does not cancel a yard sign request already in progress.
• Text updates: reply STOP to any campaign text to stop them, or HELP for help. See our SMS program terms.
• Access or deletion: email us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it.
• Analytics: browser settings and ad-blocking extensions can block the analytics tags, and the site works normally without them.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
